Child in Custody Information Sharing with Metropolitan Police – Operation Harbinger Metropolitan Police (March 2021)

The Met Detention have shared a presentation provided for their staff on the children in custody golden hour information exchange.

Description:

Information sharing between local authority and police when a child is in custody had been identified as an area for development from local authorities, HM Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) and Met police. 

In response to the identified area for development a pilot has been running in Hackney, Croydon, Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge Local Authorities to provide a channel for information sharing in real time. Since the start of the pilot, there has been some positive results.

The Met detention’s presentation provides further context and information in relation to some of the details of the process that is currently being piloted.
