Communication Passport – Trafford Youth Justice Service

Summary:

In conjunction with a speech and language therapist, Trafford Youth Justice Service has developed a communication passport to capture the needs of children who are presenting at court. The tool can be used by youth justice professionals and court staff. It can also be adapted and used in a wide range of settings working with children. Trafford YJS developed the communication passport after a number of children were remanded to local authority care and subsequently appearing at the Crown Court. The passport is also included as part of Trafford’s pre-sentence report Quality Assurance.
