Knowledge and Evidence

The YJB provides ongoing knowledge and evidence as part of its statutory function to ‘identify, make known and promote good practice’. It aims to build, translate, and disseminate the evidence base in order to maximise positive outcomes for young people who come into contact with the justice system.

This section of the Hub aims to synthesise, translate and disseminate evidence, as well as develop products to equip the sector with knowledge on the evidence base – including how to enhance it locally. It will include information and publications developed by the YJB such as:

  • Findings from the YJB’s social research activities and bespoke evidence briefings on key topics.
  • Effective Practice in Youth Justice briefings - summaries of current evidence and practice in differing topic areas, to support continuous improvement at a local/provider level.
  • The YJB Research Monitor – which captures upcoming research activities, research/good practice publications and policy briefings from a selection of government, third sector, private and academic organisations.

If you have any suggestions for how we might better develop the information that we provide or have suggestions for future topics, please get in touch via the contact us page.
