Summary: | Joint Guidance by YJB and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists . |
Speech, Language and Communication Needs in the Youth Justice System is a joint guidance by the YJB and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. The guidance supports practitioners and managers around how to work with children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in England.
It also aims to support practitioners and managers to consider how SLCN may affect a child’s ability to engage and comply with requirements placed upon them. It will also identify some useful approaches to help to tackle this issue.
