The home Office has published advice to schools and colleges on gangs and youth violence guidance (2013), which is aimed at leaders, their senior teams and staff in schools or colleges affected by gang or youth violence. The guidance has been produced as part of the cross-Government work on Ending Gang and Youth Violence and is intended to be used as a resource upon which schools and colleges can draw on. It includes:
- advice on the support available to address problems of youth violence or gangs;
- a summary of what works in preventing violence;
- some considerations when commissioning programmes to improve outcomes for children; and
- a set of resources and practical checklists.
