Welsh Government, ADSS Cymru, YOT Manager Cymru and Youth Justice Board have produced guidance for the joint working arrangements between youth justice services and Local Authority Children- Services for children in custody in Wales.

The aim of the guidance is to support the joint working arrangements between youth justice services and Local Authority Children- Services for children in custody. The protocol is in place to ensure that staff in youth justice services and children- services work together effectively in the discharge of their specific duties towards children and young people to meet their needs and to support their reintegration and resettlement.

The guidance is aimed at those working in the secure estate, local authority children- services and youth justice services. The guidance sets out the statutory responsibilities of relevant agencies and good practice guidelines.
