Induction and Workforce Development Plan – Kent Youth Justice Service (July 2022)

Kent Youth Justice Service have shared their new stater induction plans for staff as well as their workforce development plan to support a consistent approach throughout the service.
Description
Kent Youth Justice Service have shred their induction process and their workforce development plan, which highlights the training, development requirements and needs for staff along with an expected timeframe for completion. The workforce development plan is used to inform and support the personal development plan and appraisal process.
Kent Youth Justice Service is part of the bigger early help and prevention services, they have therefore created two inductions for youth justice practitioners:
- Youth Justice Practitioner Initial Induction – provides an overview of the role, responsibilities and internal guidance and process for new starters that have a youth justice specific role.
- Children, young people and education, early help and prevention services – used with staff that have a more general role
Kent Youth Justice Service have also shared their youth justice practitioner induction requirements, which is used by managers to ensure a consistent induction process.
