Interventions Directory in Young Offender Institutions – Ministry of Justice (updated 2022)

Summary:

The national interventions directory provides an overview of interventions available across the Young Offender Institution and Prisons estate.

Description:

Youth justice services can access the national interventions directory, through the Youth Justice Application Framework (YJAF). This may be helpful when considering activities to be included in resettlement (sentence) planning for children placed in Young Offender Institutions. It may also be useful in cases where a young person is due to transfer to the young adult custodial estate and can support consideration where the young person may best be placed in.

The national intervention directory comprises of three spread sheets:

  1. Custody education, training and employment
  2. Custody non education, training and employment
  3. Virtual Campus Content Catalogue

Each spreadsheet contains information on:

  • where an intervention is available
  • category of prison (if applicable)
  • name of the intervention/programme
  • aim of the programme/intervention
  • pathway need being met
  • gender of who can access the intervention
  • region
  • local contact details

If you have any problems accessing the youth justice application framework please contact the Youth Justice Board Statistics and Analysis Team.
