Learning package: Disability Matters for youth justice (July 2016)

Description:

Working closely with the Sunderland youth offending team the consortium developed a specially tailored free e-learning package called Disability Matters for Youth Criminal Justice.

The short e-learning package provides a helpful starting point for all legal professionals working with the AssetPlus framework. The topics were chosen to support the addition of the following areas to the tools:

• Speech, Language and Communication Needs
• Neurological Disability
• Learning Disability
• Autism

Development of the Disability Matters e-learning content was funded by the Department of Health and Health Education England and developed by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in conjunction with a consortium whose members included the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Contact a Family and the Council for Disabled Children.
