Attached are the terms of reference and other relevant information created by Barnet Youth Offending Service multi-agency resettlement and aftercare panel to support children transitioning.

The Resettlement and After Care Panel is a multi-agency forum organised by Barnet youth offending service for children and young people aged 10 to 19 years old in the youth justice system, who are going through different transition and resettlement processes.

The main objective of this meeting is to ensure that the children and young people serving their community and custodial sentences, those remanded in custody and remanded in the care of the Local Authority, and those due to be sentenced, receive smooth transitions and effective end-to-end service provisions for them to reintegrate back into the community.

Included in the terms of reference there is also information concerning:

  • Referral criteria
  • Referral pathway
  • Panel flowchart
  • Integrated offending management criteria

Implementing the practice

  • The resettlement and aftercare panel should be chaired by the Head of Youth Justice Service, MASH, REACH, LADO and EDT or the youth justice service manager.
  • Members of the panel need to have management responsibilities within their organisation and can commit to making changes in day-to-day working as part of the youth justice service or the wider youth crime prevention agenda.
