Access to the national protocol on reducing criminalisation of children looked after and care leavers produced by the Department for Education.

Description:

The Department for Education, in partnership with statutory and voluntary sector have published the National Protocol on Reducing Unnecessary Criminalisation of Looked-After Children and Care Leavers. 

The aim of the protocol is to support the work of local authority children- services, local care providers (fostering services, children- homes and other arrangements), police forces, Youth Justice Services, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and HM Courts and Tribunal Service (HMCTS), local Youth Panel (Magistrates), and local health services including mental health in working with children that are looked after.
