Summary: A variety of on-line resources for youth justice service practitioners, children and families/carers to increase awareness around social media and potential harm.

 

 

Aims:

  • Support parents and children understand some of the potential dangers of social media and increase risk of exploitation from others.

 

 

Description:
Essex Youth Offending Service has collated some key resources in relation to support parents/carers, children and professionals around keeping safe, grooming and exploitation. This is particularly relevant due to the potential for increase in use of social media during the COVID-19 lockdown.

 

 

Implementing the practice:

  • Essex YOS has shared the attached with all staff.
  • Practitioners should use, discuss and share with children and parents/carers as appropriate.
