Aims:

  • To develop and maintain clear, consistent agreements and working practices relating to how professionals respond to confirmed incidents of harmful sexual behaviour by children or young people.
  • To provide a framework to assist professionals to conduct an initial assessment of children and young people who display sexually harmful behaviour.

 

 

Description:
This policy and procedure document sets out the framework used by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to assess and intervene with children and young people who display harmful sexual behaviour.

The document outlines the roles and responsibilities of the youth offending service, children’s social care, police, health and education in carrying out a multi-agency assessment.

 

 

Implementing the Practice:

  • All staff are provided with the attached policy and are required to familiarise themselves
  • All staff working with young people that have been convicted of a sexual harmful behaviour are AIMII trained
  • Attached policy is also relevant to young people that are on OOCD and have committed a sexually harmful behaviour type offence
