Description:
Surrey Police and Surrey youth support service have published their evaluation report and evaluation summary in regards to their Youth Restorative Intervention initiatve. The aim of the youth restorative intervention, which is a multi-agency initiative is to provide a restorative approach when working with children who have committed low level crimes.
A trained restorative justice practitioner work with the child and the victim to develop a bespoke agreement or youth restorative intervention contract. The youth restorative intervention contract allows for increased victim satisfaction, reduced costs and reduced reoffending. When the crime has no identifiable primary victim, the youth restorative intervention is used to encourage children to consider the harm caused and those affected by the harm.
