YOT/Academic Partnership Working Guide (2016)

YOT/Academic Partnership Working Guide (2016)
Summary: Results of survey exploring existing partnership working between the youth justice sector between YOTs/SE and academics.

The Youth Justice Board for England and Wales (YJB) is committed to encouraging collaboration between the Youth Justice sector and the academic/research community.

Partnerships can help bring real benefits to everyone involved. They can allow youth justice workers to have access to expert advice and training; while giving academics valuable access to data and providing placement opportunities for their students. Partnerships can also enable research to be undertaken that is of mutual interest to both parties.

This guide aims to help youth offending teams (YOTs) build those links. It is based on findings from YJB research with academic organisations and YOTs about their experience of research partnerships.
