Resettlement Policy from Buckinghamshire Youth Offending Service

Summary:

Buckinghamshire Youth Offending Service has developed a resettlement policy which outlines how practitioners can support children in effective resettlement following a custodial sentence. The policy is informed by the Youth Justice Board’s resettlement pathway and is underpinned by 5 key principles which provide practical guidance for staff to ensure children are supported through a successful and constructive resettlement period.

This framework is designed to approach resettlement as a journey for the child, rather than a single transition event to the reduce likelihood of reoffending and deliver better outcomes for children who have been sentenced to custody. It also includes helpful recommended reading on custody and resettlement. Read Buckinghamshire Youth Offending Service’s resettlement policy.
