The Centre for Justice Innovation have published responding to drug possession – a new framework (August 2022). This paper sets out a comprehensive, evidence-led framework for diversion for drugs possession offences across England and Wales.

It aims to help police forces and others develop a better response to drug possession, to reduce the harms associated with drug misuse, keep communities safe, and reduce the costs to the criminal justice system.

The paper is concerned with children as well as adults.
