See, Hear, Respond – Reaching Out to Support Children and Families in Crisis in England – Barnardos (June 2020)

Summary:  See, Hear, Respond, provides targeted support to vulnerable children, young people and their families who are affected by COVID-19.

Description:

See, Hear, Respond, provides targeted support to vulnerable children, young people and their families who are affected by coronavirus (COVID-19) and the measures put in place to stop its spread.

The support is led by Barnardo-, working in partnership with national children- charities and local organisations. See, Hear, Respond provides:

  • Online support to children and families who are struggling;
  • Street-based youth work to identify and support children at risk of harm outside of the home, including exploitation; and
  • Support to help vulnerable children to successfully return to school or college if they have not been attending during the pandemic.

The service is focused on finding and reaching out to vulnerable children around the country who are having negative experiences on their health and wellbeing, as well as those at risk of harm.

Barnardo’s have provided a poster used to raise awareness of See, Hear, Respond as well as some information for youth justice services about the programme.
