Manchester Metropolitan University published, serious youth violence and its relationship with adverse childhood experience (2021) report.
The report was commissioned by Manchester Youth Justice Service, and funded through the Youth Justice Board Pathfinder. The report explores the nature and prevalence of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) within the youth justice cohort in Manchester, along with children- experiences of ACEs and serious youth violence.
The report further explores children and practitioner- views of youth justice practice, in particular, the use of trauma-informed interventions.
Also available, is a short film trauma city: a tale of serious youth violence and a comic book version of the film which may be of interest.
