Salford Youth Justice Service’s Victim Safety Assessment
Summary:
Salford Youth Justice Service’s victim safety assessment and accompanying guidance to produce individualised plans for victims of crime and ensure appropriate support.
Description:

Salford Youth Justice Service has developed a victim safety assessment which aims to ensure that an individualised action plan is formulated between the victim worker and the victim, to improve victim safety and ensure appropriate victim support is offered. The service has also developed a guidance document to support victim workers to complete the assessment.
This allows the service to measure its involvement and support offered, as well as ensuring that the voice of the victim is captured. The assessment also means that the service can contribute to any direct work delivered to the child who has committed the offence, where the victim agrees to this.
