Chief Constable Olivia Pinkney, national lead for Children and Young People has recently republished: The National Strategy for Policing Children and Young people. This document sets out they key principles which the Police believe are important when policing children and young people. The four priority areas identified are;
 

  • Stop and search
  • Looked after children (children in care)
  • Detention, custody and criminalisation of children and young people
  • The relationship between young people and the police
     

The Police encourage Services to view this document to support the work, especially where that overlaps with policing.
