Tower Hamlets & City of London YJS’s introductory videos for children and families
Summary:
Tower Hamlets and City of London Youth Justice Service have co-created a series of introductory videos with children and parents to explain the support on offer at the service for children and how they support parents and family.
Description:
Tower Hamlets and City of London youth justice service have shared three short films that have been created by children in its Youth Forum. The first film is a short animation narrated by a child with experience of the service, explaining how children will be supported by the YJS, the kind of plans they will put in place together as well as the concept of restorative justice.
The children also created a short film for parents and carers, in both English and in Sylheti, to explain how the service can support them while their child is working with the service.
Tower Hamlets and City of London Youth Justice Service uses these films with children and their families when they first start working with the service to alleviate any fears, anxieties or concerns that they may have. The videos introduce the team, help families understand what a youth justice service is and starts to build a relationship of trust and mutual respect.
