Workforce Development Training Plans – YJB (April 2020)
Summary: | A framework that Youth Justice Services can use to develop Learning and Development plans |
Aims:
- Enable Youth Justice Services to identify relevant strengths and knowledge gaps in staff
Description:
It is vital that learning and development plans are specific to the needs of an organisation; the YJB has developed a framework containing a series of questions and prompts to allow YJS to develop learning and development plans tailored to them. An effective workforce development/training plan will allow your organisation to understand the skills of each individual staff member – a crucial step in identifying gaps and providing opportunities for the workforce to share practice and improve outcomes across the board.
When developing local training plans, it may be helpful to consider the following: Workforce Development Strategy, Youth Justice Skills Matrix and Youth Justice Skills Audit.
An example of a Workforce Development Plan designed via this framework can be found here.
