Summary Information on how to register for the Trauma Informed Practice Effective Practice Award. 




A new Effective Practice Award has been created to complement a growing awareness of the impact of adverse childhood experiences on children’s lifestyles and well-being.


This Award, created by Unitas in partnership with the Youth Justice Board, is accredited by Skills For Justice Awards. It is intended to assist the sector to learn more about trauma and how some of the tools and techniques associated with it can be employed in practice.


A promotional video is now available, the award costs £250 +VAT, but YJB are sponsoring a number of places for YOTs for free.

The Award has four main elements:


• theories and principles connected to trauma
• exploration of trauma-informed approaches
• trauma-informed relationship-based practice
• the challenges for practice.
