AssetPlus: Planning Tools to Support Engagement with Children – Youth Justice Board (2016)

Summary: A variety of worksheets, created by the Youth Justice Board in 2016, that can be adapted to support engagement and co-creation with children.

Description:

In 2016, Youth Justice Board created a variety of tools, which were originally adapted from existing templated used by youth justice services to support co-creating and agreeing plans with children.

The tools should be edited, developed, illustrated, added to and personalised for individual children and their circumstances.

These include:

  • Sorting things out description and worksheet – aimed at supporting children to reflect on their key areas for intervention.
  • What’s working in my life? description and worksheet - aimed to support children to reflect on factors affecting their desistance.
  • Steps out of Trouble description and worksheet - aimed to support children to reflect on factors affecting desistance.
  • The Safety & Wellbeing Ladder description and worksheet - aimed to support practitioners to understand the child’s view on their safety and well-being.

The Youth Justice Board and partners will be working to amend AssetPlus supporting materials, this is due to be completed by March 2023.
