The National Protocol for Case Responsibility promotes consistent practice among youth offending teams (YOTs) in England and Wales. The guidance document provides a set of overarching principles designed to assist local services to:

  • work in partnership with others to support practice that safeguards children’s welfare
  • manage public protection issues
  • ensure supervision meets court expectations guidance in relation to practice
