Aim:

• To ensure quality and consistent practice is delivered by YOS and Volunteers during Referral Order Panel Meetings
• As a method of supporting and ensuring volunteer development

Description:
Doncaster Youth Offending Service have created and implemented a panel observation template. The template is based on signs of safety approach. The YOS staff, that sit in the panel meeting use the feedback form to record their observations during the panel meeting. the volunteer is provided, initially with the feedback after the panel for a general discussion, following which the observation is also used in the volunteer 1:1 supervision.

Implementing the Practice:

• Doncaster YOS use the Panel Feedback Form on a needs basis with their volunteers
• The feedback is provided straight away after the panel meeting, but it is also used during 1:1 supervision sessions (which occur every 3-4 months)
•  The Panel Feedback Form is discussed in details and it is used as a basis to look at positive practice and work through any areas of improvement
•  The Panel Feedback Form is used to support volunteer development and is used alongside regular training and information sessions.
