The Youth Justice Application Framework (YJAF) is a on line platform created for Youth Offending Teams (YOTs) and Secure Estates (SE) to communicate effectively (including sharing AssetPlus, case diary entries etc) and download formal documents and templates from the YJB that are not suitable for sharing with the wider public.

In order to access YJAF, a member of the management team is required to provide clear and explicit agreement for their staff to have this access. This must be an email sent from the manager (please note that it cannot be an email from another member of the YOT team, with the manager copied in. The email can be prepared by anyone, but the manager/acting manager, will need to send it to i2n requesting access) requesting access. The email should be sent to the i2N helpdesk support@i2n.com, who can also support with any quries or difficulties in accessing YJAF.

Primarily, YOT access to YJAF is for any staff member who holds case responsibility for a Young Person(s) who is currently in custody, however, other YOT staff may request limited access in order to download documents that the YJB have shared in the Document Library.

The ‘YOT Custody View’ module allows YOTs to access the relevant AssetPlus stages that have been created and updated by the case manager while in custody. The module also provides access to case notes from the case managers in the SE, as well as documents and sentence calculations.

YJAF contains all the young people that are currently held in SE and those cases remain visible for a short time after they have completed their sentences.  A short user guide - Youth Justice Application (YJAF) YOT Guide, outlines how to gain access to the system, navigate around the YOT Custody View and access the relevant AssetPlus stages that you have been given authorisation to view (YOTs and SE have slightly different views and access to each other). Please note that a new version of the guide was uploaded on the 5/3/18.
