1. Youth Justice Resource Hub Acceptable Use Policy
This acceptable use policy sets out the terms between the Youth Justice Board (‘We’, Us’ or ‘Our’) and the user of this Site (‘You’ or ‘Your’) , under which You may access Our Site (https://yjresourcehub.uk/) (“Our Site”).This acceptable use policy applies to all users of, and visitors to, Our Site.

Your use of Our Site means that You accept, and agree to follow all the policies in this acceptable use policy, which supplement Our Site’s Terms of use.

2. Information about us
Our Site https://yjresourcehub.uk/ is operated by the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales. We are an Arms Length Body of the Ministry of Justice, part of the UK Government. We are based at Clive House, 70 Petty France SW1 9EX.

3. Prohibited Uses
Our Site may only be used for lawful purposes. You may not use Our Site:

  • in any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international, law or regulation;
  • in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect; 
  • to send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use or re-use any material that does not comply with Our content standards (below);
  • to transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam);
  • to knowingly transmit, send or upload any material or data that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware; and
  • to not reproduce, duplicate, copy or re-sell any part of Our Site in contravention of Our Site’s Terms of use.

You also may not interfere with, damage or disrupt any:

  • part of Our Site;
  • equipment, network or server on which Our Site is stored or hosted;
  • software which we use to provide Our Site; or
  • any equipment or network or software owned or used by any third party.

Finally, you confirm that you will not attempt to reverse compile, reverse engineer, or disassemble, any part of the Youth Justice Resource Hub.


5. Content Standards
These content standards apply to any and all material (including imagery) which You contribute to Our Site (“Contributions”). These content standards supplement Our Site’s Terms of Use. You must comply with the following standards. The standards apply to each part of any Contribution as well as to its whole. Contributions must:

  • comply with Our Site’s Terms of Use (particularly Our Site’s Posting Policy;
  • be accurate – especially if You provide factual information;
  • be genuinely held, if You provide opinion(s); and
  • comply with law in the UK or in any country where they are posted

Contributions must not:

  • contravene any of Our Site’s Terms of Use;
  • contain any material which is defamatory of any person;
  • contain any material which is obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory;
  • provide or promote any kind of material that might be considered sexually explicit or violent;
  • promote discrimination based on any of the following protected characteristics: Age; Disability; Gender reassignment; Marriage and civil partnership; Pregnancy and maternity; Race; Religion and belief; Sex; and Sexual orientation
  • infringe any existing copyright, database right or trademark of any other person
  • aim to or be likely to deceive in any way;
  • breach any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence;
  • be considered to be an invasion of another’s privacy
  • promote any illegal activity or advocate promote or assist any unlawful act;
  • be threatening, cause annoyance or inconvenience in any way;
  • be likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person;
  • be used to or aim to impersonate any person, or to misrepresent Your own real identity or affiliation with any person;
  • misrepresent the policies, views, opinions of the Youth Justice Board or in any way give the impression that Your Contribution emanates from Us, if this is not the case; and
  • advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act such as (by way of example only) copyright infringement or computer misuse.

If You are in any doubts as to whether Your proposed Contribution contravenes any of these Standards, You should seek legal advice.

6. Suspension and/or termination of user accounts
This Acceptable Use Policy provides further conditions of suspension or termination of any user account to supplement Our Site’s Terms of use for this Forum.
It is in Our discretion to determine whether there has been a breach of this Acceptable Use policy through Your use of Our Site. Failure to comply with this Acceptable Use policy constitutes a breach of the Terms of Site use, and may result in Our taking any of the following actions we consider to be appropriate:

  • immediate, temporary or permanent withdrawal of Your right to use Our Site along with removal of any posting or material uploaded by You to Our Site;
  • issue of a warning to You;
  • legal action against You resulting from any breach of Our policies;
  • legal action against You for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach; and or
  • disclosure of any information to law enforcement authorities.

We exclude Our liability for actions taken in response to breaches of this Acceptable Use policy. The responses described in this policy are not limited and We may take any other action We consider to be appropriate.

7. Changes to this Acceptable Use policy
We may make changes to this Acceptable Use policy from time to time by making changes to this page. It is Your responsibility to check this page and take notice of any changes We make. Some of the provisions contained in this Acceptable Use policy may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on Our Site.
