This effective practice brief aims to raise awareness of the needs of Gypsy, Roma, Traveller (GRT) children in the youth justice system. It is intended as a tool for practitioners, particularly those working in Youth Justice services, to help inform their practice and offer suggestions of what might work in engaging and supporting GRT children.
The brief was developed through desk research and consultation with various governmental and non-governmental public bodies, third-sector organisations working with and/or representing GRT communities, and Youth Justice services with experience of working with GRT children.
